Mr Brajović hosts the new Ambassador of Slovakia to Montenegro

President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović today hosted in the inaugural visit Ambassador of the Republic of Slovakia to Montenegro Mr Boris Gandel.

President of the Parliament congratulated the Ambassador on assuming the office and voiced his conviction that within his term the relations between Montenegro and Slovakia would be promoted. “Slovakia has set good foundations of cooperation with Montenegro, and regular political contact and meaningful cooperation represent a confirmation of a strong partnership”, emphasised President Brajović.

In his conversation with Ambassador Gandel, President Brajović pointed out that Montenegro did not forget the support of the Slovakian diplomacy in the process of the renewal of Montenegrin independence, NATO accession and joining the EU. He voiced his conviction that this friendly country would continue to provide its help in the upcoming period when our country was entering a new stage of integration aimed at faster joining the Union.

Greatly satisfied over his term of office in a friendly country, Ambassador Gandela emphasised that he would like to make these excellent relations even more meaningful, because there was a lot of potential for their development. “We feel that Montenegro was a success story and now you have the best position among the countries in the region. Slovakia supports Montenegro in becoming a member state of the EU, because your progress is a very important signal to the other countries regarding which path to take”, replied the Ambassador. He also pointed out that Slovakia deemed important that the EU enlargement was a priority of the new European Commission and that the latest messages from Brussels represented a clear indicator of commitment to further progress of Montenegro and the region.
