Algerian Ambassador: Montenegro is a state worthy of respect

President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović today received non-residential Ambassador of Algeria to Montenegro Ms Abdelhamid Chebchoub.

The interlocutors stated that traditionally good political relations should be followed by proper economic cooperation. They talked about bilateral plan of cooperation, whereby the following were identified as priority fields: energy, traffic, maritime transport and tourism.

Also, the importance of parliamentary diplomacy, which is at the highest level, was emphasised as well as activities of the Montenegro - Algeria Friendship Group, aimed at strengthening closeness of the two people of the two states.

They exchanged opinions on political and security issues that are of common interest. President Brajović stressed out that Montenegro could be proud of its foreign policy model, bearing in mind excellent relations with its neighbours, successes with regard to European and Euro-Atlantic integration as well as multi-national and multi-religious harmony of citizens in our country.  

The Algerian Ambassador pointed out that Montenegro was a state worthy of respect, with visible progress since gaining its independence.

Ambassador Chebchoub spoke, with great respect about Algerian national hero Mr Stevan Šćepo Labudović, cameraman originally from Berane, who earned that title by his professional contribution during the revolution in Algeria.
