Ambassador Takahara: Japan fully supports political processes in Montenegro

President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović hosted Mr Juichi Takahara, Japanese Ambassador seated in Belgrade, in Podgorica today.

 

During the meeting, the interlocutors shared views on current political and economic issues of the two courtiers, as well as on improvement of interstate cooperation, particularly when it comes to strengthening of economic ties.

President Brajović said that the visit of Ambassador Takahara was another confirmation of excellent and traditionally friendly relations. He emphasised that Montenegro appreciated the previous developmental help provided by Japan.

They mutually stated the importance of intensifying political contacts at high level, as well as continuation of further project cooperation between Japan and Montenegro. Also, they considered the possibility of strengthening cooperation in the field of tourism, by connecting national tourist organisations, tour operators and airlines, with the aim of improving tourist trade between the two countries.

Ambassador Takahara congratulated Mr Brajović on all successes that Montenegro has achieved with regard to the Euro-Atlantic integration and expressed confidence that fulfilment of foreign policy priorities would be in line with planned dynamics of the state.  

- Japan fully supports political processes in Montenegro, which include integration into NATO Alliance and European Union, Mr Takahara emphasised.

The President of the Parliament of Montenegro and Ambassador Takahara jointly concluded that previous projects were examples of good cooperation of the two states and that it should be strengthened in the period to come, both at state and local level.
