"It was confirmed what I have known from the beginning and what I have often said when addressing the citizens - the adoption of the Resolution on the Protocol to the NATO on the Accession of Montenegro in the US Senate was absolutely undeniable.
Activities that the state has been implementing, both externally and internally, and we as its representatives, secured another major diplomatic victory.
The decision of the US Senate can also be understood as a strong support of the United States for the democratic path that Montenegro has undertaken.
This is another important step towards much needed achieving of a long-term peace and stability of our country and the region.
That each step gives me personal satisfaction as well because of the vision for the future of Montenegro and the correctness of the policy which I have been representing for almost three decades.
With the ratification of the Protocol to the NATO on the Accession of our country a seal will be placed in the Parliament of Montenegro on the renewed independence of our country. I believe this will be a gathering around the values that strengthen the Montenegrin statehood."
