The interlocutors talked about political situation, bilateral relations of the two countries and pace of our European and Euro-Atlantic integration, with an emphases on the process of ratification of the NATO Accession Protocol for Montenegro.
They stated that Montenegro and Luxembourg had excellent bilateral relations, agreeing that interstate cooperation in the field of economy should be intensified. The developmental help that Luxembourg has been providing in different forms is very important, particularly for underdeveloped municipalities in the north of Montenegro, the President of the Parliament stressed.
President Brajović expressed his gratitude to Luxembourg for its continuous endeavours and support with regard to our foreign policy goals, especially when it comes to membership of NATO and the EU. He recalled that he was present at the sitting of the Parliament of Luxembourg during the ratification of the NATO Accession Protocol for Montenegro in December last year, adding that after ratification by the US Senate, he expected that Montenegro would participate as a full member in NATO summit scheduled for May.
Believing that achievements on its European path are an important incentive for other countries in the Western Balkans, Montenegro is continuously committed to regional cooperation and plays an active role in building more stable and safer region through participation in regional organisations and initiatives, President Brajović said.
The continuity of political contacts between the two countries has been positively assessed, as well as the overall cooperation. The interlocutors expressed hope that it would be continued and strengthened in all fields of common interest.
