The interlocutors spoke on the most important economic issues of the two states, as well as the overall reform process in Montenegro. They accentuated the importance of strengthening parliamentary cooperation and political dialogues at the highest level.
Ambassador Alhantouli reminded President Brajović of requests of Palestinian MP Mr Marwan Barghouti, who leads a hunger strike of Palestinian prisoners. With regard to that, President Brajović expressed expectation that the hunger strike, which can seriously endanger the health of prisoners, would be discontinued as soon as possible, and the need for all countries to respect human rights and international standards governing this field.
The Palestinian Ambassador assessed as very important the progress which Montenegro has made in the overall reforms, as well as firm commitment and political will that it has been showing in the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration, and in this context, pointed out that our country is an example for the region.
The interlocutors noted that there is considerable potential for strengthening cooperation between the two countries in many areas.
The states have no open issues, which is an additional stimulus for upgrading and continuing the close cooperation in the implementation of projects of common interests.
