Farewell meeting with Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

President of the Montenegrin Parliament Mr Ivan Brajović today has received Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Montenegro Mr Ian Robert Whitting in his farewell visit.

President Brajović thanked to Ambassador Whitting on his significant contribution to improving relations and strengthening cooperation between the two states, wishing him a lot of success in his future work.

He deemed as important the fact that the Great Britain was providing a continuous support to Montenegro’s Euro-Atlantic path, and the fact that it was one of the first allies to ratify the NATO Accession Protocol for Montenegro and thus sent a clear signal to other allies.

Ambassador Whitting expressed his belief that we would continue to have excellent relations in the future and continue to develop strong partnership, regardless of the UK’s decision to leave the European Union.

Ambassador Whitting emphasised that the Great Britain would continue to provide support to the Western Balkans and Montenegro even when it leaves the European Union.

The interlocutors spoke on regional developments and issues of global importance, stating that there were numerous potentials for additional strengthening of our bilateral relations.
