Meeting Mr Brajović - Mr Çavuşoğlu: Montenegro’s membership of NATO important for the security of the Balkans

President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović today in villa “Gorica” has met Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mr Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, who is paying an official visit to Montenegro.

President Brajović expressed pleasure with the visit of the Minister, which is a continuation of political dialogue between the two states.

“Excellent relations of the two friendly states, constantly improved by new contents, particularly good economic cooperation, and manifested by significant investments from Turkey, are good basis for further dynamic development of international relations and implementation of new joint projects” - Mr Brajović said.

During the meeting, the President particularly thanked for the Turkish continuous support to Montenegro’s membership of NATO, and accentuated the importance of our membership in NATO for the stability of the overall Balkans.

Also, he showed willingness for strengthening parliamentary cooperation of the Parliament of Montenegro and the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, and in that regard, he asked the Minister to convey his greetings to his distinguished counterpart Mr İsmail Kahraman.

President Brajović and Minister Çavuşoğlu shared opinions on other aspects of bilateral relations and issues of regional and global importance that are significant for both countries.
