Bosnia and Herzegovina оfficials: Every success of Montenegro is the success of the region

Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina are an example of neighbors with extraordinary political relations and with no open issues, which is the best basis for further economic development and consideration of all other topics of interest to citizens of the two countries. This is the conclusion from the meetings of the President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Mr Ivan Brajović, during the official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina. President Brajović had meetings today in Sarajevo with chairmen of the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr Šefik Džaferović and Mr Bariš Čolak, as well as with members of the collegiums of the two houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina - Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr Denis Zvizdić, and with the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr Bakir Izetbegović.

The highest officials of Bosnia and Herzegovina emphasised that the visit of the delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro has provided additional impetus to more intensive cooperation at all levels, and the evident successes of Montenegro, with the accent on the membership of our country in NATO, were viewed as an additional measure of security and success of the entire region.

President Brajović stressed that the to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina represented another step towards further development of good neighborly relations, and that parliamentary cooperation paved the way towards progress in the economy that lead to better lives of citizens of the two countries. As an example of good cooperation, the President of the Parliament has mentioned the signing of the State Border Contract between Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina as the first countries in the region to have done that, and the signing of a series of agreements in the field of social policy, higher education, diplomatic representation cooperation, etc. were planned. President Brajović emphasised that Montenegro would provide support to Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as to all its neighbors if they would show such an interest in their own path towards Euro-Atlantic and European integration.

It was jointly concluded that there were many models for cooperation on the path to the European Union, but that the dynamics of that path and membership should be carried out individually and based on the achievements of each state individually. The interlocutors also concluded that there was room for improving bilateral and regional cooperation through joint participation in pre-accession funds.

President of the Parliament will also meet with representatives of the Diaspora of Montenegro in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro, beside the President, Mr Ivan Brajović, is composed of Mr Genci Nimambegu, the Vice-President and MP Mr Suad Numanović.
