At the 31st meeting of the Administrative Committee of the Parliament of Montenegro of the 26th Convocation that was held today, the process of determining nomination of candidates for the election of the Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson and members of the Committee on monitoring the application of the Law on Election of Councillors and MPs in the part relating to the media has continued.
Pursuant to the invitation of the Administrative Committee of 25 January 2018, sent to all MPs Groups and parliamentary parties that did not form MPs Groups, the following nominations of candidates from the parliamentary ruling parties were submitted to the Committee: Ms Aleksandra Vuković, Mr Momčilo Martinović, Mr Danijel Živković, Mr Radule Novović – proposals of the Democratic Party of Socialists MP Group; and Mr Mićo Orlandić - proposal of the Social Democrats and the Liberal Party MP Group. No nomination has come to the Committee from the parliamentary opposition.
Considering that the Committee on monitoring the application of the Law on Election of Councillors and MPs in the part relating to the media has 10 members, on a parity basis, meaning that five candidates are nominated by the ruling parties and five by the opposition, the Administrative Committee noted that it was not able to determine the proposal of the decision, since the representatives of the opposition did not submit the nominations of candidates until the beginning of the meeting, so the proposal that would provide the majority for the work of the Committee could not be determined.
Within the agenda item Current issues, the Administrative Committee decided that instead of Ms Ana Nikolić, a member of the Committee, Mr Bogdan Fatić, a member of the Committee, be determined as the member of the Working Group with the task to examine the documentation of the authorised proposers following current public calls for appointment of a member of the Council of the Agency for Electronic Media and a member of the Council of the Radio and Television of Montenegro.
