At its 46st Meeting, the Administrative Committee of the 26th Parliament of Montenegro has initiated the procedure for the appointment of the Municipal Election Commission of Tuzi in line with the Law on Amendments to the Law on Territorial Organisation of Montenegro and the Law on Election of Councillors and MPs.
The Law on Amendments to the Law on Territorial Organisation of Montenegro, determining the status of Tuzi as an independent state, came into force on 1 September 2018.
The Committee has decided to send an invitation to all political parties who took part in the elections for councillors of the Local Assembly of Tuzi within the Capital City of Podgorica, held on 26 November 2017, that the Parliament of Montenegro will initiate the appointment procedure for the MEC of Tuzi and invite all political parties, who have the legal right to so, to propose candidates for the MEC of Tuzi.
The Committee has also initiated the procedure for the election of seven members of the Commission for the Evaluation of projects submitted to the public competition for allocating funds for supporting activities significant for preservation and development of national and/or ethnical particularities of minority nations and other minority national communities and their members in the field of national, cultural, linguistic and religious identity, in line with the Law on Minority Rights and Freedoms.
Public invitation for the election of seven members of the Commission for the Evaluation will be published in daily Dan and on the parliamentary website.
