Anti-corruption Committee holds its Third Meeting

At the meeting held today, the Anti-corruption Committee considered the Proposal for the Guidelines for good behaviour for Members of the Parliament of Montenegro within the Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey, implemented by the Council of Europe.

The purpose of the Guidelines is to help MPs to regulate their conduct in the performance of official duties with the relevant laws and regulations governing official conduct and prevention of corruption, particularly with the Law on the Prevention of Corruption, Law on Lobbying, Rules of Procedure of the Parliament of Montenegro and the Code of Ethics for MPs.
After the discussion, the Committee decided to accept the Proposal for the Guidelines for good behaviour for Members of the Parliament of Montenegro, which should be integrated into the Code of Ethics for MPs. The Proposal for the Guidelines represents a desirable framework for increasing the accountability of MPs and strengthening of state institutions in combating corruption.
