At its Thirteenth Meeting held today, with the representatives of the proposer of the law and the representatives of consumer units from the security and defence sector in attendance, the Security and Defence Committee considered the Proposal for the 2018 Budget Law of Montenegro, in part relating to the following consumer units: Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Interior, and National Security Agency. On this occasion, the Committee especially focused on the implementation of activities of bodies and institutions in the field of security and defence and the necessary funds for their effective implementation in the upcoming year 2018.
The Committee members, with the representatives of the proposer of the law and the representatives of consumer units from the security and defence sector in attendance, were informed on the planned allocation of funds in the subject field, with the focus on the developmental projects, modernisation and equipping, and on the honouring of the international obligations.
Following the comprehensive discussion, the Committee unanimously adopted the Opinion that the funds for consumer units from the security and defence sector in the Proposal for the 2018 Budget Law of Montenegro were realistically determined and that they would enable acting in accordance with the specified responsibilities.
