Security and Defence Committee holds its 40th Meeting

The Committee has considered the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Army of Montenegro

The Security and Defence Committee, at today’s meeting, has considered the proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Army of Montenegro, with the presence of representatives of the proposer.

During the discussion, respecting the need for harmonising the existing Law with strategic documents in the field of security and defence, the Committee paid a special attention devoted to the proposed solutions which prescribe the service in the military reserve force of the Army of Montenegro, the military obligation of the citizens of Montenegro, the tasks of the General Staff of the Army, the responsibilities of the Minister of Defence and the Chief of General Staff, the assessment and disciplinary procedure for persons serving in the Army.

On the basis of the proposed Law and discussion that followed, the Committee unanimously decided to propose to the Parliament to adopt the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Army of Montenegro.
