At its Third Meeting held today, the Security and Defence Committee conducted a consultative hearing of military and diplomatic representative of Montenegro Admiral Dragan Samardžić, prior to his assuming the office of defence envoy to the Republic of Austria, and at the same time the military representative to the OSCE Mission in Vienna, and the defence envoy of the Republic of Slovakia and the Czech Republic on a non-residential basis.
Furthermore, the Committee conducted a consultative hearing of military and diplomatic representative of Montenegro Brigadier General Rajko Pešić prior to his assuming the office of military representative of Montenegro to NATO and the EU, in Brussels, the Kingdom of Belgium.
Following the comprehensive discussion, the Security and Defence Committee expressed its full support to the activities presented by Admiral Dragan Samardžić as priorities for military and diplomatic cooperation of Montenegro with the Republic of Austria, the Republic of Slovakia, and the Czech Republic, with assessment that it would contribute to full affirmation of the Army of Montenegro, its defence policy and military diplomacy.
Therefore, based on the discussion that followed, the Committee voiced full support for the activities which Brigadier General Rajko Pešić presented as priorities for military and diplomatic cooperation of Montenegro with the international organisations NATO and the EU, as well as with the receiving country - the Kingdom of Belgium, with assessment that it would contribute to full affirmation of the Army of Montenegro and military diplomacy.
