This was followed by presentations of parliamentary committees, when Mr Miodrag Vuković, member of the Security and Defence Committee, presented a situation in Montenegro regarding migration challenges. Although Montenegro was not exposed to great migratory pressure for the time being, Vuković emphasised that Montenegro has repeatedly demonstrated a high level of solidarity and humanity in its history, receiving a large number of refugees, and added that this experience has made it ready for new challenges that our country was preparing for, including the possible inflow of migrants. With regard to that, he said that Montenegro adopted the Strategy for Integrated Refugee Management for the period 2017-2020 together with the Action Plan for Implementation of the Strategy for 2017, and pointed out that its basic objective is to fully harmonise and establish a legal framework that provides the effective implementation of migration control policies in accordance with EU rules and standards. He concluded that Montenegro, in facing a possible migratory crisis, would certainly respect and follow the policies of EU member states, adapting its mechanisms to all the circumstances that this situation carries.
The conference ended by closing remarks of H.E. Ambassador Haydar Berk, Director of RACVIAC - Centre for Security Cooperation.
