At the meeting that was held today, Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget conducted the control hearing of Mr Osman Nurković, Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs, on the topic "Development Policy of the Airports of Montenegro in the context of the proposed concession act".
During the hearing, members of the Committee reviewed documents submitted by the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs for the purposes of the hearing, which refer to the Report on the conducted public discussion on the Concession Act - Airports of Montenegro, draft of the new Concession Contract and Concession Act - Airports of Montenegro Concession Project.
In addition to numerous questions and answers obtained, the Committee noted, inter alia, that the Ministry, that is, the Government of Montenegro, should pay special attention to the development of air traffic in Montenegro, through the improvement of existing and building of new capacities. It has been pointed out that, given that airports represent the connection with national, regional and international markets, investing in airports, in addition to increasing connectivity, can strongly contribute to increasing economic growth through the promotion of tourism and other industries.
In addition, it has been said that special attention should be paid to defining the dynamics of investment realisation, protecting the rights of workers, and reviewing the suggestions provided by members of the Committee during the hearing.
