Meeting of the Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget with the IMF delegation held

Chairperson and member of the Committee Mr Vujica Lazović and Mr Petar Smolović have met a delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which is paying a visit to Montenegro, with the aim of gathering information on the state of the economy, prospects and policies in the framework of the regular consultations under Article IV of the Fund Agreement.

During the meeting, they talked about the role of the Committee in overseeing public finances, challenges with regard to further fiscal consolidation, planned and anticipated consolidation measures, the need for strengthening fiscal discipline, measures for improving the business environment and so on.

The IMF delegation was composed of: Mr Martin Petri, IMP Mission Chief to Montenegro, Mr Mariusz Sumlinski, IMF expert, and Ms Zorica Kalezić, Advisor to Executive Director at International Monetary Fund.
