At today’s meeting, the Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget has supported and decided to propose to the Parliament of Montenegro the adopt the following: the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Value Added Tax, the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Excise Law and the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Energy.

Submission of amendments was announced regarding the said proposal for laws.

The Committee also considered and decided to propose to the Parliament to adopt the Proposal for 2017-2020 Fiscal Strategy of Montenegro, which, inter alia, stipulates that the priority of economy policy in the upcoming period would be strengthening of fiscal stability, establishing of declining trend of public debt from 2019, and achieving surplus in budget in 2020.

Also, the Committee has considered and decided to propose to the Parliament to adopt the 2016 Status Report on the insurance market in Montenegro and the 2016 Performance Report of the Commission for the Control of Public Procurement Procedures. In line with Article 137 paragraph 3 of the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament of Montenegro, the Committee decided to submit a positive opinion to the Committee on Political System, Judiciary and Administration on the Proposal for the Law on Old Royal Capital, from the aspect of the impact of the proposed solutions on the State Budget.
