Meeting of the Chairpersons of the Conference of Parliamentary Committees for Union Affairs of Parliaments of the EU (COSAC) will take place on 22 January 2018 in Sofia, in the framework of the parliamentary dimension of the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The agenda of the meeting schedules two sessions: “Priorities of the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU” and “Increasing cohesion and ensuring convergence through the Multiannual Financial Framework Instruments”. The priorities of the Romanian presidency in the next six months will be oriented towards sustainable development through increased convergence, innovation, digitalisation and connectivity, creation of a safe Europe and improvement of its role as a global actor, among other things, through the strengthening of the enlargement policy as well as the promotion of solidarity as a common value of Europe. The COSAC participants will also discuss the issues of mutual connectivity and facing internal challenges, through the multiannual financial planning.
Deputy Chairperson Mr Adrijan Vuksanović and member Mr Ranko Krivokapić will take part in the meeting on behalf of the Committee on European Integration.
