Committee on European Integration held its 27th Meeting, closed to the public, and considered the Draft negotiation position for chapter 8 - Competition.
The meeting was attended by Mr Aleksandar Drljević, Chief Negotiator for Montenegro's Accession to the European Union, Ms Biljana Jakić, negotiator for chapter 8 and Director General of the Directorate for Internal Market and Competition at the Ministry of Economy, Mr Miodrag Vujović, Head of the Working Group for chapter 8 and President of the Council of the Agency for Protection of Competition, Mr Marko Mrdak, Deputy Chief Negotiator for the EU Acquis Chapters and Ms Šefika Kurtagić, Head of the Department for Establishing State Aid Compliance at the Agency for Protection of Competition. After the discussion that followed, which included issues such as - Montenegro’s competitiveness in respect of EU market, procedure for granting state aid, administrative capacity of the Agency for Protection of Competition and further activities towards harmonisation with the acquis, present members of the Committee on European Integration unanimously adopted positive opinion for the Intergovernmental Conference on the Accession of Montenegro to the European Union for chapter 8 - Competition, with the hope that the chapter will be opened during the Romanian presidency of the Council of the EU.
