Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms of the Parliament of Montenegro will organise a conference devoted to marking of the 10th December - International Human Rights Day.
The topic of the Conference is the Rights of the Child, with an emphasis on the protection of children from all forms of violence, in the light of the Campaign of the Government of Montenegro and UNICEF "Stop Violence".
Bearing in mind that in the past the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms paid special attention to the rights of the child, guided by the fields of action defined by the Council of Europe Strategy for the Rights of the Child 2012-2015, as well as by the recommendations of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, received in October 2010, the Conference will be an opportunity for the participants to assess together the situation in the area of the rights of the child in Montenegro.
The conference should confirm that only coordinated activities and a multisector approach can contribute to affirmation, promotion, respect and protection of human rights and freedoms of children living in our country, which is the obligation of all competent entities, because “Humanity owes the child the best it has to give“.
The meeting will be held on Friday, 8 October 2017, at 14:00, in the Blue Room of the Parliament of Montenegro.
The following are invited to the meeting: representatives of state institutions, international organisations based in Montenegro and non-governmental organisations dealing with the protection of human rights and freedoms with whom the Committee has fruitful and continuous cooperation.
