Chairperson of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms, Mr Halil Duković and a member of the Committee, Mr Mihailo Anđušić, will take part at the Conference organised by the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights, on the occasion of marking the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
Following the principles of the Council of Europe Strategy, the European Action Plan and the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities that recognised the equality of persons with intellectual disabilities with other persons as a challenge for Montenegro, this year the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights, in cooperation and with the support of the Montenegro Council of Europe Programme Office, paid particular attention to these persons.
The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities will be promoted at the Conference, in an easily understandable form, which has been intended for people with intellectual disabilities.
The central part of the event will be dedicated to a program prepared by students of the Centre for Education and Vocational Training "1 June" from Podgorica, Daycare Centre from Pljevlja, NGO "Zračak nade" (eng. Ray of Hope) and the Resource Center for Children and Youth "Podgorica".
The Conference will be held on Friday, 1 December 2017, at 10:00, at the Centre Ville Hotel in Podgorica.
