Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms holds its Thirteenth Meeting

The Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms at the thirteenth meeting that was held today, as an interested working body, considered the Proposal for the 2018 Budget Law of Montenegro, in part related to consumer units: Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms of Montenegro; Ministry of Human and Minority Rights within the programmes: Administration, Exercising of Human Rights, Achieving Gender Equality, Improvement of Position of Members of RE population, Religious Communities, European Integration and Exercising of Minority Rights, Department of European Integration, Programming and Implementation of the EU funds; Agency for Personal Data Protection and Free Access to Information; Fund for Protection and Exercising of Minority Rights; Centre for Development and Preservation of Culture of Minorities of Montenegro and National Councils.

Dissatisfaction with the planned budget funds was expressed by the Director of the Fund for the Protection and Exercising of Minority Rights and the President of the Serbian National Council.

After the discussion, the Committee unanimously endorsed the Proposal for the 2018 Budget Law of Montenegro and unanimously endorsed the proposed budget for consumer units:

- Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms of Montenegro,

- Ministry of Human and Minority Rights,

- Agency for Personal Data Protection and Free Access to Information,

- Fund for Protection and Exercising of Minority Rights,

- Centre for Development and Preservation of Culture of Minorities of Montenegro and

- National Councils.

In accordance with Article 137 paragraph 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament of Montenegro, the Committee will submit the Opinion on the Proposal for the 2018 Budget Law of Montenegro to the lead Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget.
