Chairperson of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms Mr Halil Duković and Secretary of the Committee Ms Slava Burić will meet the Council of Europe expert Mr Quentin Reed, who will pay visit to Montenegro on 21 and 22 December 2016, within the expert mission.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, 21 December, starting at 12:30h, in the Red Room of the Parliament of Montenegro.
The meeting will discuss the implementation of the Code of Ethics for MPs, bearing in mind that the mission is aimed at assessing the implementation of the Code of Ethics for MPs and the provisions of the Law on Prevention of Corruption related to conflict of interest among MPs.
The expert mission is organised within the framework of the Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey - Action against Economic Crime in Montenegro, supported by the European Union and implemented by the Council of Europe - Economic Crime and Cooperation Division. The overall objective of the programme is to contribute to democracy and the rule of law through the prevention and control of economic crime in Montenegro, in accordance with European and other international standards.
During his visit to Montenegro, the Council of Europe expert will also meet representatives of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption, Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro and civil sector.
After gathering information on the practical application of the regulatory framework for ethics and prevention of conflict of interest among MPs, the Council of Europe expert will prepare practical guidelines on ethics and prevention of conflict of interest among MPs that will include practical examples and international standards, in order to contribute to the fulfilment of recommendations and removing shortcomings defined during the GRECO's Fourth Evaluation Round.
