Welcoming the present at the beginning of the meeting, President Brajović expressed his gratitude to diplomatic representatives for everything they had done in the previous year, professional relation and proper monitoring of situation in Montenegro,
- Your support, suggestions and opinions expressed through the reports are crucial for creating an attitude about developments in our country and support that Montenegro receives by your countries in its process of European integration, Mr Brajović said.
Chairperson of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants Mr Andrija Nikolić informed the diplomatic representatives that on 15 and 16 April Montenegro will host international gathering: “Conference of young parliamentarians from the EU and Western Balkan countries”.
According to Mr Nikolić, the project envisages that that the countries of the region and the EU member states propose two MPs, from the government and from the opposition, with an imagined but flexible age limit of up to 35 years, and to open a debate on the perspective of enlargement policy in the Montenegrin Parliament in the context of the forthcoming elections for the European Parliament, and consider the role of education as one of the key factors of democratic and economic development.
Diplomatic representatives attending today’s meeting have welcomed the idea for organising the conference which would gather young parliamentarians from the EU members states and the WB, expressing readiness to provide logistic and other support in implementing this, as they assessed, exceptionally important event.
The meeting, organised upon the initiative of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants, was also an opportunity for exchange of opinion on the achieved in the integration process in the previous ear.
The meeting was attended by the Committee members: Mr Luigi Shrela, Mr Dragutin Papović, Mr Miloš Nikolić and Mr Miodrag Lekić.
