Chairperson of the Committee Mr Andrija Nikolić pointed out that relations of the two countries were continuously promoted through mutual respect and constant updating of political, economic, security, cultural, and scientific contacts.
Chairperson Nikolić pointed out that a strong impulse to the relations of the two countries was given by the common European and Euro-Atlantic goals, as well as cooperation within the regional initiatives.
Chairperson Nikolić expressed institutional and personal gratitude to the Parliament of the Republic of Albania, which was among the first to ratify the NATO Accession Protocol for Montenegro, with note that it would not be possible to achieve strategic integration goals, i.e. accession to the European Union and NATO, without consideration of foreign policy in the regional context.
Chairperson of the Committee conveyed his expectation that in the upcoming period the issues relating to the agreement on the state border between Montenegro and the Republic of Albania, as well as the issue of authentic representation of the Montenegrin minority in the State Committee on Minorities would be also resolved.
Chairperson of the Committee noted that special contribution to further emancipation of Montenegrin society was given by minorities and on that occasion he reminded of the significance of Albanians in Montenegro, who according to him, after the previous elections as well recognised the interest of being a part of the executive power and thus chose the best way to promote their own, but also the interests of Montenegro.
Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to Montenegro H.E. Mr Ernal Filo pointed out that two countries have good relations as evidenced by numerous mutual visits at the top level, with note that relations were improved daily through continuous cooperation.

Mr Ernal Filo especially thanked Chairperson of the Committee Mr Nikolić for the well thought out policy of Montenegro which kept the multi-ethnic harmony through good cooperation with representatives of minorities, especially through their involvement and active participation in all levels of the government.
Ambassador of the Republic of Albania H.E. Mr Ernal Filo announced the soon solving of issues, demarcation between the two countries, and authentic representation of the Montenegrin minority in the State Committee on Minorities at the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania.
At the meeting they also discussed the planned visit of delegation of the Committee on Foreign Policy of the Parliament of the Republic of Albania, the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants of the Parliament of Montenegro.
With assessment that the parliamentary cooperation was a foundation of the overall relations of the two countries, the interlocutors agreed that it was necessary to proceed with the continuous exchange of information and experiences, especially through official channels, which is the best prerequisite for strengthening of bilateral relations.
