By participating in the NATO mission in Latvia, Montenegro is demonstrating responsibility for strengthening global peace and security, which is why it enjoys confidence among the Allied armed forces, Mr Andrija Nikolić, Chairperson of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants, said during an official visit to members of the Montenegrin Armed Forces deployed in Adaji military base within NATO’s mission "Enhanced Continued Presence" in the East.

The delegation of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants was welcomed by Commanding Officer Lieutenant-Colonel Mike Reekie, a member of the Canadian Army, who presented the capabilities of the military base, praising Montenegrin soldiers, describing them as stable persons of exceptional physical readiness and professionals dedicated to their work.

In conversation with our soldiers, Chairperson and member of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants Mr Andrija Nikolić and Mr Luigj Shkrela expressed satisfaction with the positive assessments of NATO's senior military representatives, the professional attitude of Montenegrin soldiers to their regular tasks, expecting that they would continue to represent in the future the state of Montenegro.

The meeting concluded that specific benefits of NATO membership are reflected in the increasing opportunities for advancement of members of the Montenegrin Army, who have the opportunity to use advanced military equipment, share useful experiences with colleagues from other NATO members, and also improve their English language skills.

The meeting with Montenegrin soldiers was attended by Ambassador of Montenegro to the Republic of Poland and, as of today, the non-resident Ambassador of Montenegro to the Republic of Latvia H.E. Mr Budimir Šegrt, as well as First Secretary at Montenegrin Embassy in the Republic of Poland Mr Robert Markić.
