At its 74th meeting held today, members of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants have considered and unanimously supported the proposal that Mr Milorad Šćepanović be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Montenegro to the Russian Federation, on a residential basis in Moscow.
Chairperson of the Committee Mr Nikolic pointed out that the European and Euro-Atlantic orientation of Montenegro should not be an obstacle to improving relations with the Russian Federation, therefore it is important that there is mutual readiness for overcoming the current situation through joint and gradual work.
In this sense, Mr Nikolić stressed that by appointing one of its most experienced diplomats, the Government has shown its devotion for achieving better relations of the two states.
The Committee will notify the President of Montenegro as soon as possible on their positive opinion on Mr Milorad Šćepanović.
