The Palestinian Ambassador commended visible progress which Montenegro had achieved on its path towards meeting its strategic goals - European and Euro-Atlantic integration, with assessment that our country had strengthened multi-ethnic harmony and internal stability and had achieved serious progress in the field of economy.
Ambassador Al-Hantouli further informed the Chairperson of the Committee on the situation relating to the Palestinian politician Mr Marwan Barghouti, who was leading a hunger strike of Palestinian prisoners. Mr Nikolić pointed out that, in the long-term, a democratic dialogue was the only genuine manner to overcome problems and voiced his conviction that the solution would be reached as soon as possible with assessment that the observation of human rights and freedoms were an obligation of every country individually.
The interlocutors pointed out the significance of strengthening the parliamentary cooperation between the two countries through forming of friendship groups, which represented additional impetus for establishment and intensifying of parliamentary, economic, and overall state relations between Montenegro and Palestine.
