Chairperson of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants hosts the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Montenegro

The joining of Montenegro to NATO is considered by the Republic of Slovenia as the success, H.E. Mr Mitja Mocnik said, the Ambassador of that country, in the conversation with Mr Andrija Nikolić, Chairperson of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants.

Chairperson of the Committee, Mr Andrija Nikolić, expressed gratitude to the Ambassador Mocnik for the strong support that Slovenia, as our contact country for NATO, has provided Montenegro with during the pre-accession phase of Euro-Atlantic integration.

Ambassador Mocnik added that Slovenia is a strong supporter of Montenegro in terms of its further development and prosperity, with the assessment that it would continue to provide expert assistance in the process of meeting the requirements for EU membership.

The interlocutors agreed that extremely good bilateral relations, which, among other things, have been reflected in the continuous cooperation in the field of trade, tourism and between Slovenian and Montenegrin municipalities, should be further strengthened through more substantial parliamentary cooperation. In this regard, a visit by members of the Committee on International Relations of the Parliament to the Republic of Slovenia was agreed.
