Chairperson of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants hosts the Ambassador of the Republic of Ireland

Stable and friendly relations between Montenegro and Ireland need to be improved at all levels - noted at the meeting of the Chairperson of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants, Mr Andrija Nikolić, with the non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Ireland to Montenegro, H.E. Mr Pat Kelly

Ireland is extremely appreciative of Montenegro's progress in European integration and is unambiguously committed to the idea of enlargement, especially to the countries of the Western Balkans. In this regard, Montenegro is a role model in the region, bearing in mind the reform progress, but also the adjustment and changes that it continuously introduces on this path, the Ambassador of Ireland, Mr Pat Kelly said.

Chairperson of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants, Mr Andrija Nikolić, and the Ambassador Kelly agreed that an increased political presence of the European Union in the countries of the Western Balkans was needed, as a strong support for the European perspective and a clear signal of the future of Europe.

The intensification of parliamentary cooperation at the level of working bodies was discussed at the meeting, and the interlocutors considered the possibility of more concrete cooperation of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants with the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs, Trade and Defense of the Parliament of Ireland.
