The education must not yield to digitalisation, but adapt itself - this is one of many messages from the meeting
Today’s meeting of the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Sports was devoted to the use of information and communication technologies in education.
Aside from the Committee members, the meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Public Administration, educational institutions from different education levels and important institutions from the education field.
In his introductory speech, Chairperson of the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Sports Mr Radule Novović said that Montenegro has recognised a long time ago the importance of information and communication technologies for the overall development of the state, therefore their development and translation into daily life and work is an imperative and priority. He recalled that Montenegro’s education system has passed through computerisation in the previous period as well as that modern technologies have become an integral part of curriculum in Montenegrin schools.
The goal of information and communication technologies is not to be studied and used in only highly specialised ICT subjects but also in curriculum of all other subjects, because we are striving for a society of educated, flexible and creative people who must be able to learn throughout their lives - this is a a main message from the meeting. The development of ICT in Montenegrin education will enable students to actively participate in a world that changes with new technologies.
