Chairperson of the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Sports Mr Radule Novović today has met Ms Christine Toudic Gaborit, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of France to Montenegro.
The Chairperson of the Committee informed the French Ambassador about the responsibilities and functioning of the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Parliament of Montenegro as well as about the Committee’s activities related to the reform of Montenegrin education system, following the adoption of eight laws in the education field during the middle of the last year. The Chairperson of the Committee said that Montenegro was firmly devoted to reaching standards of developed countries in the field of education as soon as possible, as well as that education, science, culture and sports were the best basis for connecting states.
Ambassador Toudic Gaborit expressed pleasure with the organisation of the meeting. She said that education, science, culture and sports were the basis of the main values in a developed society, and therefore, the main objective should be for us to learn from an early age how to adopt and use them in the right way, due to the fact that future of every country depends on it. She especially emphasised the significance of opening of the French European School in Podgorica (EFEP) on 3 September of this year, stating that in this way Montenegro has become a part of international French schools intended for children of all nationalities which gives an international significance and status to the Capital City, due to the fact this educational institution is recognised worldwide.
The meeting was organised with the aim of strengthening parliamentary cooperation in the fields that fall under competences of the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Sports as well as for the purpose of establishing communication of the Committee with responsible working bodies of the National Assembly and Senate of the Republic of France.
