Chairperson of the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Sports Mr Radule Novović and members of the Committee Ms Branka Tanasijević, Mr Aleksandra Vuković and Mr Ervin Ibrahimović today have visited the Science Promotion Foundation, meeting on that occasion with President of the Foundation Mr Jovan Mirković and his associates.
President of the Science Promotion Foundation Mr Jovan Mirković stressed that the Foundation, as a non-governmental organisation, advocates for a knowledgeable society, with the aim of making science popular, improving scientific and research work, encouraging technological development, performing international exchange of researches and students, affirming young scientific talents, improving information sharing in science via media, actualising application scientific results in practice, organising professional and popular meetings, establishing scientific centres in cooperation with leading academic institutions in the world, participating in international scientific initiatives, supporting cooperation with Montenegrin scientists in the diaspora, promoting scientific projects of strategic importance, supporting ecological, biotechnological and medical development projects and other activities that are of interest for social development and promotion of science in Montenegro.
Interlocutors agreed that Montenegro needs creativity and innovation, as a central production resource, as well as new technologies, new ideas and knowledge. They emphasised the importance of young people's participation in political life, with regard to their future. The meeting also announced the cooperation in the upcoming period, as well as that the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Sports would give its contribution to the affirmation of future activities of the Foundation.
