At its 39th Meeting held today, the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Sports considered the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Higher Education.

The Proposal for the Law on Amendment to the Law on Higher Education was submitted by a group of MPs: Ms Branka Tanasijević, Mr Andrija Popović, Mr Mihailo Anđušić, Mr Nikola Rakočević, Ms Marta Šćepanović, Mr Boris Mugoša, Mr Genci Nimanbegu, and Mr Adrijan Vuksanović on 5 July 2019, aimed at prolonging the deadline for the completion of studies for students of the University of Montenegro, who started their studies in line with study programmes who were in force before the start of implementation of the Bologna Declaration. According to this Proposal for the Law, the deadline for the completion of studies for students who are studying in line with the old system would be the end of school year 2019/2020.

The Committee unanimously decided to support this Proposal for the Law and proposed to the Parliament of Montenegro to adopt it.
