At its meeting held today, the Gender Equality Committee, from within its responsibilities, considered the Proposal for the Law on Ratification of the Amendment to Article 20 paragraph 1 of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women.

The Committee unanimously supported the Proposal for the Law and proposed to the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants, as the line Committee, to propose to the Parliament of Montenegro to adopt the Proposal for the Law on Ratification of the Amendment to Article 20 paragraph 1 of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women.

Under the item of the agenda “Current issues”, the Committee was informed on the upcoming activities, as well as on activities carried out between two meetings.

The Committee meeting was attended by: Director General of the Directorate for the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms at the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights Ms Blanka Radošević-Marović and Head of Department for Gender Equality Affairs at the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights Ms Biljana Pejović.
