Chairperson of the Gender Equality Committee Ms Nada Drobnjak today has taken part in the Gender-sensitive Parliaments Online Tool Workshop, organised in Vilnius, Lithuania, by the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE).
The workshop is about creating self-assessment tool that helps collect empirical data to measure the gender sensitivity of national and regional parliaments, in terms of their organisational structures and work processes, in the following fields: equal opportunities for men and women to be elected to parliament; equal opportunities for influencing decision-making in parliament; placing topics from this field on the agenda, and the adoption of gender-sensitive laws.
The use of this self-assessment tool for parliaments will contribute to the strategic priority of the EIGE to support the integration of gender perspectives in the work of EU institutions, Member States and countries acceding to the EU.
