The conference was organised by the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, with the support of the OSCE Mission to Skopje.
The conference dealt with international standards and good practice of gender sensitive parliaments, and regional parliaments, and women parliamentarians from the region had an opportunity to exchange experiences on legislation and public funding that relate to gender equality.
Speaking about the implementation of the Activity Plan for Gender-Responsive Parliament of Montenegro, Ms Drobnjak stressed that its implementation has influenced on awareness raising about gender equality issues, as well as the integration of gender equality policies and the empowerment of mechanisms for its implementation. She stressed that the Parliament of Montenegro was committed to the adoption of gender-responsive laws and policies, as well as to raising awareness of gender equality in parliamentary work.
Two-day conference discussed possibilities of improving regional parliamentary cooperation, especially in the field of gender equality.
At the conference margins, the Chairperson of the Committee met Mr Talat Xhaferi, President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia.
