Gender Equality Committee and the OSCE Mission to Montenegro organised one-day workshop for parliamentary staff on “Gender responsive budgeting”, with the aim of implementing one of the measures from the Action Plan for the Gender Sensitive Parliament of Montenegro, which envisages capacity building and development of procedures for the implementation of assessments in all stages of making and adopting laws, policies, and other acts.
The workshop was held on 14 October, in Podgorica Hotel, Podgorica.
The work of the workshops, led by expert Ms Marija Risteska, took part within panels: Gendering and Gender responsive budgeting.
The participants in the workshop were given presentations about the basics of gender responsible budgeting, policy analysis, cost-effectiveness and efficiency analysis with special focus on gender and international examples of gender responsible budgeting in practice.
Parliamentary staff from the secretariats of the Gender Equality Committee, the Constitutional Committee, the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants, the Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget, the Committee on Tourism, Agriculture, Ecology and Spatial Planning, the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Sport, the Anti-corruption Committee and the Administrative Committee took part in the meeting as well as the associate for the preparation and processing of parliamentary sitting and the Bureau of Financial Affairs.
