Chairperson of the Gender Equality Committee Ms Nada Drobnjak and member of the Committee Mr Petar Porobić took part in the Interparliamentary Committee Meeting, held in Brussels, on 8 and 9 March, and organised by the EP Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM), on the occasion of International Women's Day.
The topic of the meeting was “Women’s Economic Empowerment: Let’s Act Together”. Within the panel, the following topics were discussed: “Women in STEM: progress stalled or being eroded?”; “Global perspective: freedom from violence and empowerment”; “Gender-sensitive policy making at the core of inclusive growth”; “Shall we wait a century to achieve work life balance for women and men?” and “Global Perspective: Women’s Economic Empowerment and the UN Sustainable Development Goals”.
Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro participated in two panels: “Global perspective: freedom from violence and empowerment” and “Global Perspective: Women’s Economic Empowerment and the UN Sustainable Development Goals”.
Within the celebration of International Women's Day, award ceremony for the EU Prize for Women Innovators was organised in the European Parliament, on 8 March. The Chairperson and member of the Gender Equality Committee attended the ceremony.
