At today’s 56th Meeting, the Committee on Tourism, Agriculture, Ecology and Spatial Planning has considered the Petition initiating the control hearing of the Minister of Sustainable Development and Tourism Mr Pavle Radulović and Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs Mr Osman Nurković,

The Committee has considered the initiative by NGO “MANS”, on behalf of the NGO “MANS”, NGO “Green Home”, and NGO “Center for Protection and Research of Birds”.

The Committee reminded of discussion from 49th Meeting, when a consultative hearing on the topic “The current state of the environmental segments of the Tara River” was held. Furthermore, it was noted, in the presence of the NGO representatives and responsible state bodies, that a high level of communication should be maintained between the responsible state bodies and NGO, with the aim of realistic overview of the situation in this area. Also, it was assessed that the Committee should visit the highway construction site Bar-Boljare during September or October.

Bearing in mind the said, the Committee decided not to accept the initiative by MANS to establish, before touring the terrain, the level of compliance with the relevant regulations concerning the construction of highway, cooperation between state bodies and NGO and informing the public on the state of environment of the Tara river.
