Committee on Tourism, Agriculture, Ecology and Spatial Planning, at the meeting held today, considered and endorsed the Proposal for the Law on Quality Schemes for Agricultural Products and Foodstuffs.

During the discussion, there was talk on the establishment of a system of registration of agricultural Products and Foodstuffs, as well as the system of assessment of compliance and regulation of protection fields of agricultural products and foodstuffs quality labels, as a prerequisite for protection at EU level. Special attention was paid to the new labels that the Proposal for the Law has recognised. The possibilities of improving the quality of the Proposal for the Law were discussed as well.

After the discussion, the Committee introduced an amendment that the representative of the proposer agreed with, so it has become an integral part of the text of the Proposal for the Law, pursuant to the Article 150, paragraph 3 of the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament.
