The meeting was organised upon the initiative of Chairperson of the Committee on Health, Labour and Social Welfare Mr Suad Numanović with the aim of establishing closer cooperation and sharing experiences between the Committee on Health, Labour and Social Welfare and working bodies of the same or similar powers of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia.

Speaking about the health, he said that in 2011 Montenegro signed the Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of health and medicine with the Republic of Slovenia. Mr Numanović said that these two countries did a lot through cooperation, but also that there was room for enriching the cooperation and raising it to a higher level.

Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Montenegro Mr Mitja Močnik shared with the Chairperson of the Committee the experiences from the Committee’s field of expertise, particularly emphasising that a possible study visit would be a good opportunity to discuss the closing of negotiation chapters for the EU accession with parliamentarians of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia.
