Communiqué by Chairperson of the Committee on Health, Labour and Social Welfare Mr Suad Numanović

These days, when our country is facing the great challenge of fighting CoVID-19, it is ever more important to follow the recommendations by the Government and the National Coordinating Body for Communicable Diseases. Citizens need to understand that we are in a state of emergency and that the measures taken are intended solely to protect the health of the nation in the broadest possible context.

However, as a physician, I am aware of the importance of supporting the on-going action at national and local levels aimed at preserving the mental health of all Montenegrin citizens, since this is a specific lifestyle rhythm that citizens are not used to. Mental health is a state of well-being where every person uses their potential and copes with daily stress. That is why it is important for us all to be aware that these are temporary measures, during which we need to take care of mental health as well, so to be able to handle the stress that is inevitably imposed by the situation where we are facing the global threat.

Therefore, I would like to thank to the citizens for upholding the measures so far and invite them to continue acting in a responsible and disciplined manner, because we have solve this issue together, since no-one else will do that for us.
