At the twelfth meeting of the Working Group for the Implementation of the OSCE/ODIHR Recommendations, held on Friday, 24 November, Draft Law on Amendments to the Electronic Media Law was discussed in detail.

In a constructive discussion, members of the Working Group considered ways to implement part of recommendations with regard to the media, with a special emphasis on strengthening the capacity of the Agency for Electronic Media and the legal framework for the media in the part that defined political advertising in detail.

When defining the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Electronic Media, the proposals and comments of the competent state institutions were analysed in detail, of entities that have applied to the Public Invitation, as well as a study commissioned by the OSCE Mission in Montenegro in relation to political advertising.

During the next week, the Working Group will continue its work on the preparation of the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on the Election of Councillors and MPs.

The next meeting of the Working Group will be held on Tuesday, 28 November 2017, at 13:00.
