Delegation of the Parliament at the International Workshop "Cooperation of European parliamentarians in the fight against human trafficking in the Western Balkans"

Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro, composed of Mr Suad Numanović, member of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms and Ms Branka Tanasijević, member of the Gender Equality Committee, participated at the International Workshop "Cooperation of European parliamentarians in the fight against human trafficking in the Western Balkans", that was held in Belgrade on 17 and 18 May 2017.

 

Montenegro expresses its full commitment to the activities on preventing and combating trafficking in human beings, protection of human rights of victims of trafficking, designing of a comprehensive framework for the protection and assistance to victims and witnesses, as well as ensuring effective investigation and prosecution, and the promotion of cooperation in this area, MP Numanović concluded his presentation.

At the end of the Workshop, activities to be undertaken have been proposed in order for the parliamentarians to be engaged in establishing inter-parliamentary cooperation by establishing a body or a network for more effective action in combating trafficking in human beings for the Western Balkans, for everyone to be subsequently informed by the submission of conclusions of the International Workshop.
