During his meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mr Vasyl Bodnar, Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro and Chairperson of the Montenegro - Ukraine parliamentary Friendship Group Mr Genci Nimanbegu stressed that the meeting represented a confirmation of readiness of the two friendly states to improve their cooperation in many fields.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mr Vasyl Bodnar informed Vice President Nimanbegu on political situation in Ukraine, stressing that their country was using all available legal political mechanisms to establish internal peace and stability in war-affected areas. Mr Bodnar particularly emphasised Ukraine's strategic ambition to become a full member of NATO and the EU, and expressed belief that Montenegro's expertise and experience from these processes could significantly help Ukraine in fulfilling its vital state interests.
Vice President of the Parliament and Chairperson of the Montenegro - Ukraine parliamentary Friendship Group Mr Genci Nimanbegu stressed that Montenegro and Ukraine shared the same foreign-policy priorities, and expressed the conviction that Ukraine may count on the understanding and solidarity of Montenegro, adding that our country followed the international policy of its European partners from Brussels.
The interlocutors agreed that the two states had no open issues, therefore there is interest for further improvement of relations in all fields, particularly in the field of tourism and economy. Also, the interlocutors agreed that mutual visits between the two parliaments, planned for the second half of the current year, directly contributed to the strengthening of bilateral and overall relations between Montenegro and Ukraine.
