- Defining the mandate within the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) represents an example of good neighbourly cooperation between Montenegro and the Republic of Albania - pointed out the president of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Ivan Brajović at his meeting with the newly elected Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council Ms Majlinda Bregu.
The interlocutors assessed that successful regional cooperation was a precondition for wider integration, and pointed out the necessity for strengthening parliamentary cooperation, considering that legislative authorities have a final say in the decision-making.
The EU can be stronger only if its consolidation and enlargement processes are done simultaneously - pointed out the President of the Parliament. In that context, he emphasised that Montenegro was happy for the success of all candidate countries and it was ready to share its experiences with them, while the individual progress of each country should be valued separately.
Presenting her work plan, the RCC Secretary General emphasised that she will focus her attention on achieving specific and tangible results, highlighting mobility, the significance of removing roaming charges between the Western Balkans countries, mutual recognition of diplomas and professions, as well as the strengthening of trade ties.
