Anti-corruption Committee holds its 30th Meeting

Information Paper of the Police Administration on the fight against corruption and organised crime considered

At today’s 30th Meeting, the Anti-corruption Committee has considered the Information Paper of the Police Administration on the fight against corruption and organised crime in 2109, which is a classified document, therefore the meeting was closed to the public.

The Information Paper included the issues such as: prevention of serious crimes against the person; countering serious crimes against the person; targeted pursuits; undercover investigators; the prevention and suppression of drug trafficking and distribution; preventing and combating illegal migration and smuggling and trafficking in human beings; combating economic crime and financial investigation, with particular reference to combating corruption; combating high-tech crime; anti-money laundering and witness protection.

The introductory remarks by Minister of Interior Mr Mevludin Nuhodžić, Director of the Police Administration Mr Veselin Veljović and Assistant Director of Police Administration for Department for Fight Against Organised Crime and Corruption Mr Zoran Lazović were followed by a discussions and Q&A regarding the Information paper and international cooperation among state bodies.

Participants of the meeting answered all the questions included in the agenda and others as well.

Members of the Committee will consider proposals for improving the legislation in terms of more successful fight against corruption and organised crime.
